thermafleece thermafleece is a highly thermally efficient insulation and is the only British wool insulation to be BBA certified - (02/3950). Meaning that it totally complies with Building Regulations, in between joists in ventilated and unventilated lofts; under pitched roofs and between rafters for tiled or slated pitched roofs, as well as timber frame wall applications between studding with a weather resistant cladding, and a ventilated and drained cavity. Thermafleece is made using the wools from sheep that graze the upland areas of the UK, breeds such as Swaledale, Herdwick, Scotch Blackface and Welsh Mountain to create an exceptionally efficient thermal and acoustic building insulation. Second Nature UK manufacture Thermafleece in Yorkshire, the heart of the woollen and textile industry. The company aims to stimulate the rural economy by adding value to British wool, a natural fibre from a fully renewable resource and an incredibly efficient and versatile raw material. Thermafleece is sold in three thicknesses, 50mm, 75mm and 100 mm, which can be layered to achieve your required depth and two widths or 'centres' of 400 or 600 mm. Zero Ozone Depletion Potential(ODP)ODP is a measure of the potential of a product or material to cause damage to the ozone layer. Materials that can be particularly damaging include blowing agents used in the production of foam insulation. Thermafleece has an ODP of zero meaning that none of the materials contained in the insulation or used in its production pose any danger to the ozone layer. Reduced Carbon FootprintBy installing 250mm of Thermafleece in a loft, the typical household can reduce its heating costs by up to 25% and their CO2 emissions by a staggering one tonne per year.
